"...One thing we made sure to do was offer teacher choice. We know that by providing options, students are more connected to their learning and engagement increases. So too can be said for teachers. We currently have four concurrent PLCs (Professional Learning Communities): writing throughout the day, phonics, math framework, and Spanish teachers. We identified needs in all of these buckets and we discussed how to best address them given how stressed and overwhelmed our teachers already felt. We decided that by giving teachers a choice, it would make the biggest impact. Without knowing it, we based our planning on Guskey’s model..."
